Russia‘s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a surprising announcement several hours after Secretary of State John Kerry made a public statement of the option out for everyone to avoid a US military strike against Syria. Syria’s Bashar al- Assad must give all chemical weapons stockpile into the care of the international community to be dismantled and disposed away from a regime or factions of rebel forces to use against innocent people and use to to try to allow external parties save or topple a regime my using force or action to be the tipping point in the civil war. That is the scenario that Secretary Kerry gave as the option out in Syria, and Russia’s Foreign Minister announces that it would push Syria to give up chemical weapons immediately. Both countries made almost the same statement on a scenario to avoid US military action in Syria, and save the embarrassment of both the US and Russia in this confusing paradox of the Syria puzzle in the Middle East mess.  The US will not look so diminished as the superpower, and Russia will save face in trying to stop us in a military confrontation to save Assad and the crumbling regime of Syria.

In an interview with CBS, Bashar al-Assad’s interview was an eye opener as Charlie Rose. posed one question after another question. Charlie Rose was acting more of a leader  of a country than Assad. The interview was the propaganda campaign to scare the American people that a military strike would not be go without retaliation. It was a joke that Russia was protecting someone like Assad. Cold War Diplomacy as the backdoor negotiations is the secret negotiations the Soviet Union and US used to resolve crisis events unknown to both countries civilian population until the Soviet Union dissolved. The US and Russia may have found the way out, but Assad threw the devil’s card in the use of chemical weapons. Will he give them up so easily? He loses leverage in the world and the war. Will this cat give up being cornered by a bear and eagle?
